Thunder Warrior - Lightning Shaman's Blog & Events

an excerpt from the SpiralDancing Workbook

Wherever you come from in your life, the first step on the Path of Beauty is to shift your perspective. According to the Tlish Diyan, what matters isn’t the situation, but how we view it.

An actualized person is someone who recognizes their connection and works with the patterns of nature. The archetype is called Naakisi - Grandfather of the South. Somewhere in the area that you live there are four sacred landscapes - a mountain or large body of water. Identify this place in the south and go there. Take an item that carries the energy of Unity with you. Go to this place often and observe for a month. In connection established with Naakisi you begin to think holistically, seeing your part in the unity of life, respecting the natural cycles within and around you.

Grounding yourself in the item that carries the energy of Unity when you cannot actually physically be there on the land, brings answers. Ten Bears taught me that when we quiet ourselves and listen to the heartbeat of the land we begin to find our answers. Where many fear change, a Tlish Diyan realizes that life constantly evolves in cycles of change. Non-traditionalists view their world through a limited dualism that makes them controlling and self-defeating. Every situation in life has many options to choose from. Creative and resourceful, with Naakisi’s teachings, we flow with change, seeing all options. Connected with nature, we promote greater peace in our world.
